What we ask and what we don't
When you submit a sighting, your control over what's published matters more to us than completeness of the record.
You can submit anonymously
Click the "Submit anonymously" toggle on the submit form or skip sign-in entirely. We will not publish your account, email, IP address, or any other identifying details with the sighting. Moderators see only what you provide; we cannot share what we don't collect.
We strip GPS data from public photos
EXIF metadata - including the GPS location your phone embeds in photos - is stripped from the publicly-served file. The original is kept private for moderator forensics and is deleted on request.
You can ask us to take it down
Email remove@uapfilewatch.com from any address with the sighting URL. We honor good-faith takedown requests within 72 hours, no questions asked.
Pilot, military, and law-enforcement witnesses
Use the pilot/military intake lane for confidential handling under stricter access controls. Your identity is never published; verification is done off-platform.
What the AI score does (and doesn't do)
Every published sighting gets a 0-100 advisory plausibility score from gpt-4o-mini based on narrative quality and contextual signals. It is not gatekeeping - low scores are still published. The reasoning and red/green flag list are shown to readers so the score is never a black box.
Right to be forgotten
Authenticated users can delete their account from /account. We anonymize authored content (replace author with "anonymous"), delete EXIF originals, and revoke API keys with a 30-day grace period.
