Iranian Imperial Air Force F-4 Phantom interceptors scrambled to investigate a bright unidentified object over Tehran. Both fighters experienced electronic systems failure on approach. Documented in a U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency report (DIA report 6 846 0139 76) acquired via FOIA. One of the most thoroughly documented official military UAP encounters.
