United Airlines ramp workers, mechanics, and at least one pilot reported a grey disc-shaped object hovering motionless above Concourse C Gate C-17 at O'Hare International Airport. The object reportedly punched through the cloud deck on departure, leaving a circular hole. FAA initially declined comment; later attributed to weather. During totality of the July 11, 1991 solar eclipse, hundreds of independent witnesses across Mexico City filmed a metallic disc-shaped object using consumer camcorders. Researcher Jaime Maussan compiled at least 17 distinct video recordings. Notable for the breadth of corroborating amateur video from independent vantage points. Logger Travis Walton reported being struck by a beam from a hovering disc-shaped craft while working with a crew in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. Civilian pilot Kenneth Arnold reported nine crescent-shaped objects flying in formation past Mount Rainier at extraordinary speed while searching for a downed C-46.
