USS Russell crew recorded multiple "pyramid"-shaped objects on night-vision optics during operations off Catalina Island. The footage was leaked in 2021 and subsequently confirmed authentic by the Pentagon. AARO's 2024 review noted the imagery was consistent with bokeh effect on out-of-focus aircraft lights, but the case is still officially classified as a UAP encounter. On the evening of March 13, 1997, thousands of witnesses across Arizona reported a V-formation of lights, with subsequent reports of a single large boomerang or triangular craft moving silently south from Nevada to the Mexico border. Then-Governor Fife Symington publicly mocked the event and twenty years later acknowledged he had personally witnessed an unidentified craft. USAF later attributed the second event to A-10 flares. Photographer "Patrick M." captured what became known as the Petit-Rechain photograph, depicting a triangular object with three white lights and a central red light. The photograph was studied by the Belgian Royal Military Academy. In 2011 the photographer admitted the original photo was fabricated, but it remains historically significant. Beginning Nov 29, 1989, hundreds of witnesses across Wallonia reported large silent triangular craft with three white lights and a central red light. Belgian Air Force F-16s engaged on March 30, 1990 with radar lock and gun camera. The Belgian government uniquely cooperated with civilian UFO research group SOBEPS and published all findings. U.S. Air Force personnel stationed at RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge reported observing a structured craft of unknown origin in Rendlesham Forest over two nights. Deputy Base Commander Lt. Col.
